How does the HT50 servo-control the baseline pressure (PEEP)?
The microprocessor “learns” the properties of the exhalation valve during the exhalation valve calibration. At end inspiration the microprocessor adjusts the pressure in the exhalation valve to attain the prescribed baseline pressure (PEEP). With the proximal pressure measurement as a guideline, exhalation valve pressure is adjusted breath by breath to justify the measured PEEP with the target PEEP.
