The HT50 uses a 22 mm ID, single-limb circuit. The exhalation valve is very near to the patient and is feed-back controlled by the HT50 through the expiratory drive line to manage PEEP. The airway pressure is measured on the other side of the exhalation valve through the proximal pressure tubing.
