Why isn’t my tidal volume the same at the same pressure control level on the HT50 as it is on my other ventilator?
The tidal volume entering a patient's lungs during pressure controlled ventilation is dependent on several factors. Beyond the volume delivery changes that will occur with changes in patient effort, resistance and compliance, the volume will also change with differences in the algorithms used by any given ventilator as well as the breathing circuit configuration while set up for pressure control ventilation. It is very likely that the volume delivery will be different between devices even when they are set up with the same parameter settings.
