How does the HT50 compensate for leaks and keep baseline (PEEP) stable?
Whenever PEEP > 0 cmH2O the HT50 generates ~7.5 L/min of continuous flow through the breathing circuit between breaths. If this flow is not adequate to compensate for leaks and baseline (PEEP) pressure “sags” during exhalation the exhalation valve pressure is adjusted to bring PEEP to the target value.
